STAFF SCRIPT

What to Say at the Desk

Read this first. A spoken claim counts exactly the same as a written one. The desk is where nearly every problem actually starts, because someone has to answer a question on the spot without time to think. Give this to anyone who talks to clients — ten minutes of reading saves a conversation nobody wants to have later.

The 30-Second Answer

“It’s hydrogen inhalation. Molecular hydrogen is the smallest molecule there is, and there’s a lot of research interest in how it behaves in the body — particularly around oxidative stress and the body’s own antioxidant balance.

The session itself is about as easy as it gets. You sit in a chair, put on a soft nasal cannula, and breathe normally for half an hour. You can read, work, whatever. There’s no sensation to it — hydrogen is odorless and tasteless — and there’s no downtime after.

A lot of people fold it into their routine a couple of times a week. Want to try a thirty-minute session and see how you find it?”

Then stop talking. The most common mistake is filling silence with something you should not have said.

Common Follow-Ups

“Does it actually work?”

“There’s a real body of research on molecular hydrogen — a lot of it mechanistic, some of it in people. It’s an active area rather than a settled one, and I’d rather be straight with you about that than oversell it. What I can tell you is that clients who make it part of their routine tend to keep booking it.”

“Is it safe?”

“It’s a passive session — you’re just breathing, there’s nothing invasive about it. The equipment is professional-grade and produces hydrogen at 99.992% purity, independently lab-verified. That said, we’re a wellness service rather than a medical one, so if you’ve got any health condition, or you’re pregnant, it’s worth a quick word with your doctor first.”

“Will I feel anything?”

“Honestly, not much during the session — hydrogen has no smell or taste, so it’s mostly just a quiet half hour. That surprises people. What clients tend to notice is how they feel afterward and over the following weeks, and that varies from person to person.”

“Is it like oxygen therapy?”

“Different gas, similar setup. The nasal cannula looks familiar, but this is molecular hydrogen rather than oxygen, and it works on completely different principles.”

“How often should I come?”

“There’s no fixed schedule. Some people come two or three times a week as part of a routine, others book it around hard training weeks or a stressful stretch. Start with one and see how it fits.”

“Where does the hydrogen come from?”

“Distilled water. The machine splits water into hydrogen and oxygen using a membrane process, and you breathe the hydrogen. Nothing added, nothing chemical.”

The Question That Matters Most

Sooner or later someone will say: “Will this help my [condition]?” This is the single highest-risk moment in the whole service. Have the answer ready before you need it.

“I can’t speak to any specific condition — we’re a wellness service, not a medical one, so that’s genuinely outside what I’m able to advise on. What I can do is tell you exactly what it is and what a session involves, and you can take that to your doctor and see what they think.”

Then go back to describing the session. If they press again: “I understand, and I’m not trying to dodge you — I’m just not qualified to answer that one. Your doctor is the right person to ask.” Repeating the same answer is fine. Inventing a new one is not.

Never Say These

  • “It helps with [condition].” Naming a condition turns a wellness service into a medical claim.
  • “We had a client with the same thing and it really helped.” A disease claim and a testimonial claim at once — the single most common way staff get a business into trouble.
  • “I use it myself and my [symptom] cleared up.” Talk about the experience of the session, not about symptoms.
  • “It’s completely safe” / “medical-grade” / “FDA-approved.” None of these are accurate.
  • “It detoxes you” / “reduces inflammation” / “boosts your immune system.” All three need clinical substantiation.

Escalate Rather Than Guess

Send it to the owner or manager if: a client asks something technical you’re not sure about · someone reports feeling unwell during or after a session · a client asks about using it alongside a medication or treatment · anyone identifies themselves as press, a regulator, or a lawyer. “Let me get you a proper answer rather than guess” never makes you look bad.

Quick reference — keep this at the desk.
Say: supports · may support · research has explored · clients often describe · check with your doctor
Don’t say: treats · cures · heals · helps with [condition] · medical-grade · FDA-approved · detoxes

The line, memorized: “I can’t speak to any specific condition — we’re a wellness service, not a medical one. Here’s what it is and what a session’s like, and your doctor’s the right person for the rest.”

COMPLIANCE

Talking About Hydrogen Inhalation

A language guide for Revive Hydrogen partners.

A note on responsibility. This is practical guidance, not legal advice. Your marketing is your own, and your business is responsible for what it publishes. We are not able to review or approve partner materials — but you’re always welcome to send us a draft first: support@revivehydrogen.com

Who Is Actually Watching

The FDA decides whether something is a medical device, and your claims are what decide it — a clinic’s own marketing copy can move a general wellness product into regulated territory, even though nothing about the equipment changed. The FTC regulates the advertising itself: any health claim needs competent, reliable scientific evidence (in practice, randomized controlled human trials). Animal and mechanistic studies — most of the published hydrogen research — cannot substantiate a claim on their own. State attorneys general and advertising platforms enforce on top of all of it.

The Four Rules

1. Support, don’t treat

“Support” is the safe verb. “Treat” and “cure” are out entirely.

2. Body, not disease

Oxidative stress, yes. Arthritis, long COVID, no. Naming a condition makes it a drug claim.

3. Hedge what you can’t prove

“Research suggests” — not weasel words, just accurate.

4. The whole impression counts

A disclaimer at the bottom won’t undo a medical impression created elsewhere on the page.

Never use with the device: treat, cure, heal, reverse, prevent, remedy, diagnose, prescribe, dose, patient, medical-grade, FDA-approved, FDA-cleared, clinically proven, doctor-recommended.

Never name a condition — not in copy, not in a caption, not verbally. This includes cancer, heart disease, stroke, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, dementia, diabetes, autoimmune conditions, arthritis, asthma, COPD, COVID or long COVID, depression, anxiety, and anything else with a diagnosis code.

“Therapy” is acceptable in the general wellness sense — the way massage therapy is used. “Therapy for [condition]” is not.

Testimonials

Client testimonials are held to exactly the same standard as anything you say yourself. A client saying “this cured my back pain” is a disease claim that belongs to your business the moment you publish it.

  • Do not publish a testimonial that names a condition, even if the client volunteered it
  • Do not publish results that would not be typical, even with a disclaimer
  • You are allowed to leave a testimonial unpublished
  • Ask for permission in writing before publishing anything

Testimonials about the experience — the room, the staff, how relaxing it was — are safe and often more persuasive than health claims anyway.

Describing the equipment

Accurate, and useful for building confidence: professional-grade hydrogen inhalation generator · produces hydrogen at 99.992% purity, verified by independent third-party laboratory testing · PEM electrolysis, using distilled water only · built under an ISO 9001-certified quality management system, with CE and RoHS certification · 6-liter water tank with integrated UV-C treatment · single-user nasal cannula for every client.

Do not say: medical device, medical-grade, hospital-grade, FDA-approved, ISO 13485. The CE marking covers electrical safety only — not a medical device certification.

Advertising platforms (Meta & Google)

Meta and Google apply their own health and wellness policies on top of everything above, and they are stricter than the legal baseline.

  • No before-and-after imagery
  • No copy that implies knowledge of the viewer’s personal health — “struggling with fatigue?” gets accounts restricted
  • Avoid nasal cannula close-ups as the lead image — combined with clinical language, it reads as a medical device
  • Lead with the experience: the room, the chair, the calm
The required disclaimer — include on your website’s hydrogen page, service menu, and any printed material:

Hydrogen inhalation is offered as a general wellness service. The equipment used is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. If you have a health condition or are pregnant, consult your physician before use.

Hydrogen Inhalation at [Your Business]

Molecular hydrogen — H₂ — is the smallest molecule in existence. That size is what makes it interesting: it moves through the body freely, reaching places larger antioxidant molecules cannot. Research has explored its behavior as a selective antioxidant, and hydrogen inhalation has moved steadily from research settings into wellness practice.

What a session is like. Easier than most people expect. You settle into a chair, place a soft nasal cannula, and breathe normally. That is the entire protocol. Most clients use the time to read, answer email, or simply sit quietly. Sessions typically run 30 to 60 minutes.

The equipment. We use a professional-grade generator producing hydrogen at 99.992% purity. Every client receives their own single-use nasal cannula.

Supporting copy — what to expect, pairing, booking

Before your session. Nothing to prepare. Come as you are, eat normally, wear whatever is comfortable.

During. You will be seated with a soft nasal cannula, similar to what you may have seen used for oxygen. Hydrogen is odorless and tasteless.

After. No downtime, no aftercare. Go straight back to your day.

Pairing. Because sessions are entirely passive, many clients add hydrogen to an appointment they’ve already booked. Ask about adding hydrogen to your next visit.

Booking microcopy. Hydrogen Inhalation · 30 or 60 minutes · Single or paired sessions available. New to hydrogen? Book 30 minutes and see how you find it.

Paired session. Hydrogen for Two — 60 min. Our generator supports two people at once, so you and a partner, training buddy, or friend can share a session side by side.

A note on naming

Simple names work better than clinical ones. “Hydrogen Inhalation,” “Hydrogen Recovery,” or “Hydrogen Session” all read clearly and stay on the right side of the line. Names to avoid: anything using therapy for, treatment, protocol, Rx, clinical, or a named condition.

Launch Templates

Most partners do better spreading the launch over two weeks than firing everything on day one. The staff session matters more than any of the copy — let your team try it before any client does.

ANNOUNCEMENT

Hi [First Name],

We’ve added something new: hydrogen inhalation sessions, starting [date]. Molecular hydrogen is the smallest molecule in existence, small enough to move through the body freely. It has been studied for around two decades, particularly around oxidative stress and the body’s own antioxidant balance.

The session itself is about as simple as it gets. You sit in a chair, wear a soft nasal cannula, and breathe normally for thirty minutes. Most people read, catch up on messages, or just close their eyes. No downtime afterward.

We’re offering [30 and 60 minute] sessions at [price]. [Optional: introductory offer.]

FOLLOW-UP, TWO WEEKS LATER — SUBJECT: How the first two weeks have gone

Hi [First Name], quick update on the hydrogen sessions we added — they’ve been busier than expected, and the most common reaction has been surprise at how little there is to it. A few notes: you can bring someone (our generator supports two people at once); you can add it to an existing appointment (sessions are completely passive); there’s no commitment — book one and see how you find it. Photography guidelines

Shoot: the room, the chair, the generator as a piece of equipment, your team, a wide shot of someone relaxed and reading during a session.

Don’t shoot: close-ups of a cannula on a face, anything resembling a clinical or medical setting, before-and-after anything. Nasal cannula close-ups are the single most common reason wellness ads get rejected — combined with health language, the image reads as a medical device.

Captions: never name a condition · never imply you know something about the reader’s health (“struggling with fatigue?” gets accounts restricted) · answer comments carefully — a public reply is a permanent claim, so redirect to a DM or phone call.

Molecular hydrogen — H₂ — is the smallest molecule in existence, small enough to move through the body freely. Researchers have spent two decades studying how it behaves once it gets there, particularly around oxidative stress and the body’s own antioxidant balance.

What you’ll notice during a session: smell — none. taste — none. sensation — none. downtime — none. This surprises people, so it’s worth saying plainly: hydrogen is odorless, tasteless, and invisible. A session feels like sitting quietly for half an hour, because that is what it is.

What happens. You settle into a chair and place a soft nasal cannula — the same style you may have seen used for oxygen. Then you breathe normally. That’s the whole protocol. Sessions usually run 30 to 60 minutes, and you can go straight back to your day afterward.

Before you come: nothing to prepare — eat and drink as normal · wear whatever is comfortable · every client receives their own new cannula · if you have a health condition or are pregnant, speak with your doctor first.

EQUIPMENT CARE

Water Change & Maintenance

Drain and refill the tank every 60 hours of use, or every month — whichever comes first. Also drain and refill immediately any time the TDS / water quality indicator activates, regardless of the schedule.

The hours counter on the display is cumulative and does not reset. Record the reading at each change, add 60, and note that figure so you know when the next change is due — keep this log with the unit, on paper or however works for your team. Retain completed logs: usage history is the first thing requested for any warranty question.

Every day

Empty and refill humidification bottles with fresh distilled water. Top off the tank if low — distilled only. Wipe down the cabinet and check the wheels are locked.

Every client

New nasal cannula, every time — never reuse between people. Check tubing is clear and undamaged.

If the Water Quality Light Comes On

Stop and perform a full drain, refill, and drain cycle before the next session. Log it with a note. If it recurs within a few days, the water source is the likely cause — check that only distilled water at TDS 5 or below is being used, then contact support@revivehydrogen.com.
